Emergency Dentistry
Dental emergencies can be painful and unexpected. At Rio Rancho Family Dental Care, Dr. Grant and our team are ready to handle any dental emergency and provide top care.
Here are common dental emergencies we treat and our recommendations:

Broken Teeth
Broken teeth due to trauma can cause pain and discomfort. Rinse your mouth with cold water to remove tooth fragments and blood. Apply gauze to the tooth and pressure to control bleeding. Use a cold pack or damp washcloth on the cheek to reduce pain and swelling. Contact Rio Rancho Family Dental Care immediately for further assistance.

Avulsed Teeth
An avulsed tooth is one knocked out completely due to severe trauma from accidents, falls, or sports injuries. If you retrieve the tooth and bring it to Rio Rancho Family Dental Care, we may reattach it.
Handle the tooth by the crown, rinse with clean water, and place it between your cheek and gums or in a glass of milk to keep the root alive. Rush to our dental office for immediate assistance.
Injured Soft Tissues
A deep cut on the soft inner lining of the mouth or a severe bruise can lead to a lot of pain and bleeding. Leaving the wound untreated can also cause an infection, which is why it is crucial to get it treated at the earliest.
In case such a dental emergency occurs, contact Rio Rancho Family Dental Care and we will assess the severity of the injury and treat it using medication or sutures.
